UC3M designs a new type of smart, sustainable modular tire
Universidad Carlos III de MadridResearchers at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) have designed and tested a new type of modular tire aimed at making it smarter and more sustainable. As part of the ECOTIRE project, they have developed a removable silicone tread that can significantly increase durability, reduce abrasive wear, and mitigate pollution caused by rubber waste.

Deep learning unlocks behavioral prediction and neurobehavioral decoding
International Society for Health Data ScienceDeep learning overcomes the limitations of traditional methods in behavioral prediction and neural decoding—such as handcrafted features, linear models, and physical priors—and through high-dimensional nonlinear modeling, multimodal fusion, and interpretable learning, significantly improves the accuracy of action and trajectory prediction as well as the mechanistic interpretability of neuro-behavioral decoding, driving the field from black-box prediction toward a mechanism-driven scientific discovery platform.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy: Molecular staging, risk factors, therapeutics, and emerging trends
International Society for Health Data ScienceThis review integrates the heterogeneous mechanisms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) into a three-stage framework: metabolic dysregulation, chronic inflammation, and overt neuronal damage. Within this framework, six representative DPN subtypes are mapped to disease progression and linked through redox disequilibrium as a central mechanistic hub. The review further summarizes genetic, epigenetic, and metabolic risk factors, evaluates current stage-aligned therapeutic strategies, and discusses cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) as an emerging redox-modulating intervention that warrants further preclinical and clinical evaluation.
