Exercising more and losing weight are consistently among the most common New Year’s resolutions. But University of Texas at Arlington experts say the real key to better health isn’t about hitting a magic number on the scale—or even logging 10,000 steps a day. Instead, it’s about focusing on achievable personalized goals that improve overall well-being.

ETRI, South Korea’s leading government-funded research institute, is establishing itself as a key research entity for securing nation’s artificial intelligence sovereignty. ETRI announced that it was selected as one of five national research teams as part of the NC AI Consortium in the independent AI foundation model development project, promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and began full-scale AI research in August. This selection is particularly significant as it solidifies ETRI’s status as a national research institute and secures its representation in the research community.

Researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory used specialized tools to study materials at the atomic scale and analyze defects at the materials’ surface. Results of their research help to better understand these materials used for advance electronics, enabling innovative data storage and computation methods.

Since 2021, Korean researchers have been providing a simple software development framework to users with relatively limited AI expertise in industrial fields such as factories, medical, and shipbuilding, providing them with a significant boost. ETRI announced that it has released the core technology of MLOps tool, which automatically generates neural networks based on no-code and automates the deployment process, as open source on GitHub.
