Halide perovskites is a recently emerged platform for the creation of efficient memristors. In turn, single-crystal inorganic perovskite would be new low-cost and flexible memory devices because of their excellent resistive switching (RS) properties, without risk of chemical and mechanical stress-generated degradation, compared with the operational instability of general thin-film perovskite memristors. Moreover, miniaturization of perovskite memristors would be useful for creating high-density memory devices.

In this study, we propose a lightweight multi-wavelength network model capable of high-fidelity and efficient full-color hologram generation in both 2D and 3D display, called IncepHoloRGB.The high-speed simultaneous generation of RGB holograms at 191 frames per second (FPS) are based on Inception sampling blocks and multi-wavelength propagation module integrated with depth-traced superimposition, achieving an average structural similarity (SSIM) of 0.88 and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of 29.00 on the DIV2K test set in reconstruction. 

A novel S-scheme Mn_0.5Cd_0.5S/In₂S₃ photocatalyst efficiently degrades antibiotic pollutants in water. Its unique electron transfer mechanism enhances charge separation, boosting performance. The catalyst demonstrates high efficiency across various water types and excellent stability in a continuous-flow system. Toxicity assessments confirm the degradation process renders antibiotics harmless. This research provides a sustainable and effective strategy for combating antibiotic contamination, paving the way for advanced water purification technologies.

How much do undergraduate computer science students trust chatbots powered by large language models like GitHub CoPilot and ChatGPT? And how should computer science educators modify their teaching based on these levels of trust?  These were the questions that a group of U.S. computer scientists set out to answer in a study that will be presented at the Koli Calling conference Nov. 11 to 16 in Finland. In the course of the study’s few weeks, researchers found that trust in generative AI tools increased in the short run for a majority of students. But in the long run, students said they realized they needed to be competent programmers without the help of AI tools.

At Columbia Engineering, chemical engineer Dan Esposito and his team are developing an alternative to Nafion. Their work, supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and in collaboration with industrial partners Nel Hydrogen and Forge Nano, aims to replace the Nafion membranes used in conventional electrolyzers with ultra-thin, PFAS-free oxide membranes. Replacing this component eliminates upwards of 99% of the PFAS contained in an electrolyzer.
