In the first systematic review of its kind, UniSA researchers found that new habits can begin forming within about two months (median of 59–66 days) but can take up to 335 days to establish.
A new consensus provides an update on the use of molecular diagnostics for hepatocellular carcinoma and biliary tract cancer,which both present significant health challenges. The expert panel has developed evidence-based recommendations that emphasize personalized treatment strategies and key molecular markers to optimize therapy. The consensus also explores emerging biomarkers, such as tumor mutation burden and microsatellite instability, which are crucial for advancing precision medicine and improving patient outcomes.
Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a highly aggressive malignancy with poor prognosis, and understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying its progression is crucial for developing effective therapies. A recent study has uncovered a critical role of the BOLA3 gene and its exon 3 inclusion, which is promoted by the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein C (HNRNPC), in accelerating ESCC progression. This discovery provides new insights into the molecular pathology of ESCC and may have implications for the development of targeted therapies.
