Economists from HSE University, together with colleagues from international universities, have analysed stock market movements over almost a century and proposed an investment strategy that could have delivered returns nearly twice as high as the market average. Their research suggests following a momentum strategy during periods of sustained market growth and switching to a value strategy after prolonged market declines. The study has been published in the Journal of Banking and Finance.
A few years ago, the first ceramic finds came to light during construction work in the Burg district of the municipality of Hannersdorf. Geomagnetic surveys in subsequent years provided evidence of numerous kilns that are thought to lie hidden beneath the field. In a recent educational excavation led by Basema Hamarneh from the University of Vienna, archaeologists have now uncovered two pottery kilns. A further 100 kilns are thought to still lie buried – an unprecedented discovery of a local production centre for utilitarian pottery from the Roman period. The finds date from the mid-1st century to the mid-2nd century CE.

In new research, UC Berkeley political scientist Olivier Bergeron-Boutin and co-authors find that even when people are exposed to less social media misinformation, their political beliefs don't change much.
