In International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, researchers from Central South University and collaborators summarize the progress of Fe-Mn alloys—materials that combine strength, degradability, and MRI compatibility. These alloys not only support bone healing but also gradually dissolve, avoiding the need for secondary surgery. With advanced manufacturing like 3D printing and tailored alloy design, Fe-Mn scaffolds are moving closer to clinical use.

♦Achieved ultra-long circulation in vivo with a half-life exceeding 100 hours after intravenous administration (10 times longer than previous stealth DDS systems).

♦Nanomachines equipped with asparaginase, an enzyme that breaks down L-asparagine, circulate long-term within the body, depleting L-asparagine—essential for cancer cell survival—from tumor tissues.

Researchers from Charles University and the Institute of Physics, Czech Republic, have demonstrated heat-based computation in a memory device made from the antiferromagnetic metal.  Inspired by how the human brain processes and stores information, the ultrafast heat-based short-term memory logic is combined with electrically readable magnetic long-term storage in a single device. The time scale of heat-based operations can be as short as sub‑nanoseconds, making these bio-inspired devices compatible with the GHz frequencies of standard electronics.

Scientists from Harbin Institute of Technology, together with collaborators from The University of Hong Kong and Southern University of Science and Technology, has developed a decoupled titanium dioxide–viologen hybrid material that integrates energy storage and color-changing display functions within a single system. Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases are the two most common neurodegenerative disorders, affecting millions of people worldwide.
