Shimadzu Corporation, a global leader in the precision instrumentation industry, and Diagnostics Development Hub (DxD Hub), a national platform hosted by Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration to establish the Shimadzu – DxD Hub Diagnomics Centre (SDDC) at Biopolis, Singapore. Officially launched today, the SDDC will drive innovation and accelerate the development of diagnostic products by integrating Shimadzu’s technological expertise with DxD Hub’s productisation platforms.

A new study from Tel Aviv University used AI tools for the first time to discover what motivates people to exercise and which strategies are most effective for maintaining physical fitness.

Researchers from Osaka University analyzed the clinical dental records of a large group of patients with hypophosphatasia (a skeletal disease) to identify its common oral symptoms. Their findings, including early tooth loss, poor oral habits, and disordered swallowing, may help early diagnosis of hypophosphatasia, thereby improving patient treatment and quality of life.

A Japanese study conducted by a team from Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine found that the use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices, equipped with sensors that alert diabetics when their blood sugar levels drop, can potentially make diabetic drivers safer on the road. Those who used the devices had lower incidences of low blood sugar and reported increased confidence in driving.
