A multifunctional hydrogel (HRZn) was fabricated through in situ mineralization and dynamic crosslinking of HA, Rhein, and Zn²⁺, resulting in enhanced mechanical properties and sustained release of bioactive components. In vivo evaluations demonstrated its potent efficacy in accelerating the healing of S. aureus-infected deep burn wounds.

Researchers from South Korea have addressed this by developing a model that integrates service-specific aspects and customer actions, which are typically analyzed separately in text mining studies. They also validated the model using online customer reviews of a metaverse platform, demonstrating its potential to help service managers identify high-priority issues and allocate resources strategically.

As AI is being widely tested in medicine, scientists at the University of Auckland, Auckland City Hospital, and Matai Medical Research Institute in New Zealand have analyzed the current landscape of AI models for meningioma (a cancer of the brain’s soft cover) segmentation from MRI scans, and its path ahead. Their key finding is that advanced model architecture has considerably contributed to tumor detection sensitivity, rather than data characteristics, imaging modalities, or preprocessing.  

In a recent Frontiers in Marine Science article, an international team of researchers published the results of a 15-year-long observation of the skeleton of a blue or fin whale lying at roughly 1,300 meters deep at Clayoquot slope off Vancouver Island. Remotely, they recorded high-definition video during four cruises between 2012 and 2024. They found that species richness has increased from 26 taxa in 2009 to 31 in 2023. They concluded the sulphophilic stage – which starts after soft tissue has mostly been consumed and anaerobic bacteria begin breaking down the remaining lipids in the whale bones – has lasted more than 20 years, with indications that it will last for at least another decade.
