APA 2025, the annual convention of the American Psychological Association, will be held Aug. 7-9 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. The meeting will feature hundreds of sessions – including main stage events, keynote lectures, symposia and posters – and will have a limited virtual component. In a comprehensive review published in February in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, Texas A&M researcher Dr. Richard Kreider and colleagues analyzed 685 clinical trials on creatine supplementation to assess its safety and the frequency of reported side effects. The analysis showed there were no significant differences in the rate of side effects for participants taking a placebo and those taking creatine.
Complex illnesses are not caused by one gene but groups of genes. The number of gene combinations is too enormous to analyze comprehensively. New AI model focuses on gene expression changes to identify key genes and their collective influence on disease.
Igho Ofotokun, MD, MSc, FIDSA, will join University Hospitals as Chair of the Department of Medicine and Physician-in-Chief. Dr. Ofotokun will begin his role on Oct. 1, 2025. He will be nominated to serve as the STERIS Chair of Excellence in Medicine at UH.
